#Fitweek Challenge – Plank drills
This weeks #Fitweek challenge is fast but amazing for your core, if you do this everyday for the 7 days you will feel the effects in your body. I try to add plank drills into my training everyday, with weights, cables or just on their own in between sets at the gym. I have the best results with my core and arms from all the planks I do. One of my favourite ways to train is planking in front of the cable machines adding weight to the moves. Check this Cable plank video out to see what I mean and try it out next time your at the gym.
Ok so if your new to planks that 1 minute hold might seem impossible but just push through it, drop a knee if you have too but by day 3-4 it will be easier. For the planking freaks out there, well you can change this to a 2 or 3 minute hold each side if you want to make it harder. Also don’t touch down in between the moves, hold it up the whole time. You could even add 30 seconds on everyday to make it harder.
Ok so here’s the Challenge:
- 1 minute front plank hold
- 1 minute right side plank hold
- 1 minute left side plank hold
- 30 pushups
