Simple Healthy Salad Recipe [RECIPE]

I try to have one or two salads a day….but I know to some people that can get boring. Eating lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and adding boring low calorie dressing.  Well stop right there because salads are not as boring as you think….you can add so much interesting ingredients that can blow your socks off.

Step out the box and start adding things you never thought you could….you have the power to do whatever you want..no one told you “YOU CANT”! So next time you go to the grocery store pick up some of these ingredients and have a salad everyday….. try getting some red cabbage, kale, spinach, bean sprouts ( any type of sprout will do) organic edenames (great protein source)  dried fruit, avocado, apples, butternut squash (yes…roast it and add it to your salad, that goes for sweet potatoes too) hemp heats, flax seeds, avocado, raw nuts, mango, fresh mint, fresh dill, watercress, amaranth grain, dandelion, quinoa (cook and and sprinkle it on, quinoa keeps good in the refrigerator for about 5 days.) mandarins, black beans and chick peas.

This is just a simple list, feel free to add anything alse BUT stay away from all processed ingredients like friend meats, deli and sandwich meat, fried breads, and most importantly already made salad dressings….they are all full of additives and preservatives.

 Simple Healthy Salad Recipe

Making your own salald dressing is so simple and can be stored in a container for 2 weeks.  Here is a simple salald dressing i always make….this is just a rough estimate on measuring.

2 tsp Organic cold pressed olive oil

3tbs of balsamic vinegar

1 small garlic clove

1tsp mustard

1 tsp raw agave nectar or raw honey

salt and pepper to taste.

Shake well and pour over salad, make more of it and store in the fridge.

You can also make a salad dressing with oil, lemon, turmeric, garlic and rosemary.
