7 Reasons why it’s Healthy to do a Headstand Everyday

 

Everyone who came out to Urban Surf this summer and got on a SUP board had to at least try a headstand once!  It’s just so much fun and to be honest I love the fact that I can let the blood from my body rush into my head, I mean we stand straight and tall all day long, it’s got to be good to get some of that blood flow around that brain of ours too !

So I just did a little research on it and I listed 7 reasons why it’s good to do a headstand everyday below. Now I find doing a headstand WAY easier on a SUP board then not, maybe it’s the way the board moves slightly with my body I’m not sure.  But I am going to try to do one everyday on or off my SUP Board, give it a try too let’s change the way we stand every once and a while!

 

7 Reasons why it’s good to do a Headstand Everyday!

  1. Change the direction your skins hanging off that face of yours,  flush some of the nutrients the other way and give your skin a glow.
  2. Increase blood flow to your scalp, hey it may even change your greys back to your natural colour. 😉
  3. It will help strength your core muscles, get all those little muscles in there really working.
  4. If we have fluid retaining in our feet it will transfer the flow outwards helping decrease the risk of varicose veins.
  5. Our hearts work very hard to pump blood up into our brain, so anytime you can give it a break from unnecessary strain is a great thing.
  6. Doing a headstand will almost always make you smile.
  7. Headstands tend to heat the body and stimulates our nervous system… sounds good to me!
