Let’s get shredded – Day 4 workout program

Today was a great day at the gym, it’s Day 4 of my weekly routine and I train chest today.  I remember when I was 14 I joined the gym with my travel soccer team and I trained chest almost everyday because I was so naive that I thought it would make my boobs grow. Haha little did I know it would tighten up what little I did have and that’s not what I wanted either, haha. So it’s funny how much I have learnt over the years,  I love working out and I hope you guys are feeling strong and proud too!! It’s a great life to live and we are so blessed to be here so we need to take care of these bodies we are given.  Shit , you only get one!!

Here’s my Chest routine, I start with the bench sometimes I hit up the incline and decline too but today I only did the flat bench.  I love jumping right into pushups after the chest press it continues the burn with just your body weights, I’ll even drop to the knees if I have too.  Have a mat close by often when your lifting, add in some core drills in between sets.  I also like throwing in chin ups on Chest day, doing all those push drills I feel like it’s benifical to add in some pull drills. I think it’s good to add in the odd set of bi curls, trip pull downs, dead lifts, etc on other days, so your not only doing those motions once a week.  How will you ever get stronger.. right?  So don’t be afraid to go out of the box a little during your training if you add or take away something it will be ok!!

The step shuffles there are done with the same bench your using for flyes, just shuffle from side to side of the step as fast as you can in 30 seconds. Hanging abs to finish, you can always add some weight to it by placing a dumbbell in between your feet, increases the difficulty.

Day 4 Chest Routine

Yummmy, these stuffed Portabella mushrooms are so good, I feel like I’m cutting a steak and the flavours from the balsamic and tomatoes complement it so well.   This is my first time trying these and I will definitely cook this again, eat it with some sliced avocado on the side or some greens.  It was filling but light on the stomach.  I am trying to keep bread and pasta on the low end of my food intake right now.  I get really bloated when I eat them and my stomach feels so full, as much as I like the taste I hate the way it makes me feel even more.

My Stuffed Portabella Recipe

  • Whole portabella mushrooms
  • Splash Basalmic Vinegar
  • Splash of Olive oil
  • Pinch Seas salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Tomato sauce
  • chopped tomatoes
  • chopped peppers
  • Half chopped onion
  • Little grated aged white cheddar
  • Parsley chopped

Whisk the vinegar , olive oil, salt and pepper together and toss the mushrooms in it to coat it evenly.

Broil mushrooms at 350 for 8-12 minutes or until the edges turn brown a little

Remove from oven and place 2-3 Tbs of tomatoe sauce on the inside of cap then add the veggies to fill like in the picture

Drop some cheddar on top and bake.

Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

That’s it, get creative add or take whatever you would like and enjoy this recipe. The mushroom soaks up that basalmic and it tastes sooo good!
